Kerry Carty Photography bio picture

Welcome!

After spending over 15 years in the Advertising and Marketing industry, I decided to make a change. Although I'm not a huge fan of change, spending more time with my two kids and on my life-long interest of photography could no longer wait.

My photo sessions are relaxed and fun. And I take an editorial/photo journalistic approach to my photography. A few examples of my work can be found on my blog and website.

Be sure to let me know what you think, or just drop me a note at kcartyphotography@gmail.com.  If you're interested in scheduling a photo session let me know!

Thanks for visiting,

Kerry

Swim Across America, September 10th

The 2011 Swim Across America Seattle race was once again, a huge success. Fundraising increased over 90% and participation increased 80% over last year. Really incredible.  Funds raised this year will help support Pancreatic cancer research at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance – a deadly disease that hasn’t seen a change in outcomes for over...

Supporting a great cause, while supporting Washington wine.

This has to be one of my favorite events of the year. Before the Picnic & Barrel Auction begins, Seattle Children’s holds their annual Purchase a Miracle Campaign meeting. Great grocery and drug stores across Washington state participate in this campaign to help raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for uncompensated care at the hospital...

Camping bonanza.

As mentioned in my previous post, we celebrated mid-summer with a five day camping trip with 11 kids and 9 adults. We had an amazing time – and as Matt would say we were, “making memories…”. But mid-way through our trip, tent fever began to set in. Costumes were found… Share on Facebook

New favorite group. Pickwick.

This would rank #2 on my “things I don’t get to do as much after having kids.” However this summer we were lucky enough to attend the Doe Bay Festival with a fun group of friends. In addition to camping with 11 kids and 9 adults (anyone over 21 years old qualified as an adult…level...

So this is what all the fuss is about.

Finally saw The Head and the Heart perform. They have such a unique and refreshing sound – and I have been playing their CD non stop since we returned from Doe Bay. Scott reminded me of the Dido and Broken Bells phases that I went through. Those CDs played over and over. To mix things...

Shower of Stars.

I recently had the opportunity to photograph St. Jude’s inaugural Seattle Shower of Stars Dinner and Gala. It was a great night which raised more than $52,000 to support the life-saving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A wonderful organization that you will surely hear more about making a difference in the Seattle-area. Share...

Ryan Star.

I recently had an opportunity to photograph one of STAR 101.5′s Star Lounge performances. This time, Ryan Star was performing for a small group of 40. I don’t get out to see music performances very often anymore, so this was great fun. For an hour of so I was able to get away and pretend...
